Born from the vision of the late Shri Neil Nongkynrih and keenly associated with the Shillong Chamber Choir, SCIS believes in discovering and nurturing the individual talents of every child.
Music and the performing arts are not simply extracurricular activities at SCIS. They are an integral part of how our pupils learn, grow and find their voice, while also helping them become good and confident communicators.
As the first school in Meghalaya affiliated with Cambridge International Education, SCIS offers an internationally recognised curriculum that encourages students to think independently, ask questions and engage meaningfully with the world around them.

The spirit of Neil “Uncle Neil” Nongkynrih remains central to the culture that surrounds SCIS.
Founder, musician and mentor, Uncle Neil believed in discipline, humility, excellence and giving young people the opportunity to discover what they could become. His work with the Shillong Chamber Choir helped create a culture where music was not simply performance, but a way of developing confidence, responsibility and community.
SCIS carries that legacy forward alongside the continuing creative influence of the Shillong Chamber Choir (SCC). His vision continues in a school where every child is given room to discover what they can become.
